Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees will continue for the next few hours across all of North Texas. The hot temperatures and humidity will result in heat index values between 103 and 107 degrees through early evening. Temperatures will remain around 90 degrees for the beginning of most fireworks displays this evening. In addition...scattered thunderstorms associated with a cold front are ongoing across parts of southern Oklahoma. These storms will drift slowly southward over the next several hours. Some thunderstorms will be possible mainly across the Red River counties through evening. Gusty winds and frequent lightning will be the main threats with these storms.
