Freeze Watch
Statement as of 9:06 AM CST on November 16, 2009
... Freeze watch in effect from late tonight through Tuesday
morning...
The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a freeze
watch... which is in effect from late tonight through Tuesday
morning.
Clear skies... light winds and a very dry airmass in the wake of
the cold front that moved through West Texas Sunday night will
yield near ideal conditions for a cold night tonight.
Temperatures are expected to fall below freezing for several hours
late Monday night and early Tuesday... with lows likely in the
upper 20s to around 30 degrees. A few pockets may drop into the
mid 20s. This will bring the first hard freeze to many locations
off The Caprock.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible.
These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
