Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:13 AM CDT on May 24, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of south central Texas... including the following
areas... Atascosa... Bandera... Bastrop... Bexar... blanco...
Burnet... Caldwell... Comal... De Witt... Fayette... frio...
Gillespie... Gonzales... Guadalupe... Hays... Karnes... Kendall...
Kerr... Lavaca... Lee... Llano... Medina... real... Travis...
Uvalde... Williamson and Wilson.

* Through 7 PM this evening

* additional thunderstorms capable of heavy rainfall will move
across south central Texas producing additional rainfall totals
of 1 to 2 inches with isolated additional totals to 4 inches
possible.

* Due to the very moist conditions of the grounds and soils in the
area... rapid flash flooding of low water crossings and some
roadways will be possible where heavy rains develop. Area rivers
and streams are also out of banks or in flood. Some of these
rivers and streams will reach their flood stages very quickly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means flash flooding is possible in or near
the watch area. If you are in the watch area... plan now for what
you will do if flash flooding develops. Stay informed and be
ready to act if you see flooding or if a Flash Flood Warning is
issued.

Do not drive into flooded roadways. The majority of flood related
fatalities occur in vehicles. If you see a flooded roadway...
remember... turn around... dont drown.
