The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Fayette County in south central Texas...
southeastern Lee County in south central Texas...

* until 730 am CDT

* at 529 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Giddings... La Grange... Fayetteville... Round Top... Nechanitz...
Walhalla... Northrup... wicchester... Plum... Warrenton... Warda...
Waldeck... Winchester... Serbin... Ledbetter... Rutersville and Rabbs
Prairie.

Additional rainfall amounts of one inch possible in the warned area.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the

the Flood Warning continues for
the Colorado River above La Grange.
* At 3:31 am Wednesday the stage was 35.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 36.6 feet by this afternoon.
The river will fall below flood stage tomorrow late morning.
* Impact... at 37.0 feet... major flooding of the Colorado River reaches lowest
homes in the fritsch auf subdivision on the South Bank of the Colorado River
in La Grange. Severely flooded roads and bridges near the river make travel
and evacuations very dangerous.

the Flood Warning continues for the Colorado River near Smithville.
* At 8:25 PM Tuesday the stage was 29.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river level will rise to crest near 30.1 feet in the early
morning hours on Wednesday. The river level will fall below flood stage early
Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 30.0 feet... major flooding inundates homes five miles upstream in
Hidden Valley Estates, three miles upstream in Doty River Estates, one mile
upstream in Pecan shores estates just above Smithville and in Kirtley below
Smithville..
