Areas of light freezing rain and light freezing drizzle will continue across portions of north and central Texas through noon. A few sleet pellets or snow grains may also mix in with the light freezing rain at times. A light glaze of ice has already developed across most locations due to light freezing drizzle that occurred during the overnight hours. An additional few hundredths of an inch of ice may accumulate as an area of light freezing drizzle and light freezing rain lifts northward across north and central Texas. This will likely only exacerbate already slick and hazardous driving conditions. Motorists are urged to avoid any unnecessary travel...as numerous accidents are being reported across north and central Texas. Temperatures this morning are expected to remain at or below freezing through noon...except for areas along and east of a Cameron to Mexia to Terrell line.

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* location... this statement is for areas along and northwest of
a line from Goldthwaite to Hillsboro to Canton.

* Timing... through Saturday afternoon.

* Precipitation type... freezing drizzle or light freezing rain.

* Accumulation... less than a tenth of an inch of ice.

* Main impact... a thin layer of ice on top of prior snowfall
will make for hazardous travel. Temperatures will be cold
enough for additional accumulations on all roads... bridges...
and overpasses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...
