The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Dallas County in north central Texas...

* until 615 PM CDT

* at 1218 PM CDT... local law enforcement reported continued flooding
on many roadways across the County... resulting from heavy rains
which occuerred last night and this morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dallas... Garland... Irving... Grand Prairie... Mesquite...
Carrollton... Richardson... Rowlett... DeSoto... Grapevine... Cedar
Hill... Wylie... Coppell... Duncanville... Lancaster... Farmers
Branch... Balch Springs... University Park... Sachse and Seagoville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few
inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.

the West Fork Trinity River at Grand Prairie.
* Until late Sunday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 0830 am Friday the stage was 28.09 feet.
* Flood stage is 27.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to a crest near 30 feet
by Saturday afternoon. The river should fall below flood stage
Sunday afternoon.
* At 30 feet, moderate flooding will occur along the lowland areas of
the river.

the Trinity River at Dallas.
* At 0900 am Friday the stage was 40.23 feet.
* Flood stage is 30 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to a crest near 43 feet
by Friday evening then begin falling but remain above flood stage.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Elm Fork Trinity River near Carrollton.
* At 0915 am Friday the stage was 11.81 feet.
* Flood stage is 8 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage near 11 feet
by Saturday morning.





641 am CDT Fri may 29 2015

The Flood Warning continues for
the Rowlett creek near Sachse.
* At 0630 am Friday the stage was 30.89 feet.
* Flood stage is 24 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to a crest between 31 and
31.5 feet Friday morning. The river should fall below flood stage
Friday afternoon.
