A heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening for the
eastern Oklahoma and the northeast Texas panhandles.
After low temperatures this morning between 75 and 80 degrees across
the eastern Oklahoma and northeast Texas panhandles... high
temperatures today are expected to rebound to between 105 and 110
degrees once again. These unseasonably hot temperatures will lead to
heat index values of around 105 to 110 degrees across the eastern
Oklahoma Panhandle and the northeast Texas Panhandle this afternoon.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check on relatives and
neighbors.
