Light snow will move across the southern and eastern parts of the Texas Panhandle overnight. Through 2 am CST...an area of light snow will track northeast at 15 mph...and is likely to affect areas which include Amarillo...canyon...Claude...Panhandle...Pampa... Clarendon...McLean...Canadian...Wheeler and Wellington. Additional snowfall amounts should range between one half of an inch to one inch. Currently...a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow is in effect for the southern Texas Panhandle through noon CST Thursday. Also...a Wind Advisory is in effect for the Oklahoma Panhandle and most of the northern Texas Panhandle until noon CST Thursday. Blowing snow will become a factor as wind speeds increase overnight. Visibilities may briefly fall to one quarter mile due to blowing snow while most locations maintain one to three miles or greater. Motorists are urged to use caution if travel is necessary.

* Timing: periods of light snow will continue through the overnight hours before slowly tapering off Thursday morning.
* Main impact: snowfall accumulations of up to 2 inches combined with north winds of 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts will likely cause areas of blowing snow overnight. Blowing snow could reduce visibilities to less than a mile at times. As a result... travel will be hazardous across the southern Texas Panhandle.
* Other impacts: areas of blowing snow could continue Thursday morning even after the snow ends.
