Cold front has moved through the lower Rio Grande Valley and will continue into the nearby Gulf waters. Through 4 PM, scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will persist in wake of the front, mainly over portions of Starr, Hidalgo, Willacy and Cameron counties, including South Padre Island. Some of the showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing periods of moderate to heavy rain, causing ponding of water on roadways and low lying, poor drainage areas. Afternoon temperatures will fall into the 60s in wake of the front with gusty northerly winds.
