Through 8 am...isolated showers will move nortwhest into the middle Texas coastal waters...southern coastal Bend...and brush country...mainly south of an Alice to Corpus Christi to Padre Island line. While most locations will remain dry...areas that do receive a shower will have the possibility of experiencing a brief period of moderate to heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than 1/10 of an inch. Mariners can expect a brief period of moderate to heavy rainfall and wind gusts up to 25 knots with any showers that occur.

The combination of warm temperatures and high dewpoints will produce heat indices between 105 and 109 degrees today. Residents with outdoor activities planned are urged to drink plenty of water... wear light weight and light colored clothing... and take frequent breaks from the heat. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
