Nowcast | as of 1:24 am CST on February 28, 2015

Snow showers will continue to mix with...or transition to snow grains or light freezing drizzle across areas along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor through 5 am. Any additional snow or ice amounts will be minimal...but still will combine with snow packed and refreezing slush to create treacherous travel conditions across North Texas through the morning hours. A Winter Storm Warning and advisory are in effect for these areas through Saturday at 6 PM. We expect intermittent light freezing rain or drizzle to continue across central Texas as well. Though amounts will only be a few hundredths of an inch through 5 am...it will be enough to cause very slippery and hazardous driving conditions...especially on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses Temperatures across much of the area will remain well below freezing and mostly in the 20s through mid morning. Travel will be very hazardous throughout the morning Saturday across much of the region. We strongly discourage travel unless you absolutely have to be out on the roads and highways.
