... Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected across western and central portions of south central Texas this afternoon...
Windy and dry conditions are spreading across south central Texas today... with gusty winds of 15 to 25 mph and minimum relative humidity values of 15 to 25 percent possible early this afternoon.
These breezy and dry conditions... when combined with moderate to high fire danger ratings from the Texas Forest service and recent rainfall deficits... could promote the spread of wildfires.
Areas most favorable to support the spread of fire will be along the Rio Grande... with breezy and dry conditions supporting elevated fire weather conditions as far east as a Llano to San Antonio to Campbellton line.
Avoid outdoor burning of any kind... and do not toss lit cigarettes into dry... grassy areas. Report signs of wildfires to local fire departments or law enforcement.
