... A Tornado Warning remains in effect until 745 PM CDT for
southwestern Gonzales and northeastern Karnes counties...

at 733 PM CDT... a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Nixon... or 14 miles northeast of Kosciusko... moving
northeast at 25 mph.

Hazard... tornado.

Source... radar indicated rotation.

Impact... flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs... windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
         likely.

This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern Gonzales and northeastern Karnes counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors... in a
Mobile home... or in a vehicle... move to the closest substantial

* From Tuesday morning to Tuesday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 6:00 PM Monday the stage was 21.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 23.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river level will rise to near 23.2 feet by Tuesday morning.
* Impact... at 23.0 feet... minor lowland flooding escapes banks into lower
sections of the flood plain..

the Flood Warning continues for
the San Marcos river below Luling.
* At 1:45 PM Monday the stage was 28.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Wednesday
morning.
* Impact... at 28.0 feet... most of Palmetto State Park is flooded including farm
to Market 2091 through the park. Flow is approaching the Large Park Pavillion
building. All park visitors are evacuated. At Highway 80 in Luling flow is
well into the flood plain and approaching The Golf Course. Livestock are cut
off in the flood plain below San Marcos to Gonzales..

the Flood Warning continues for
the Guadalupe River at Gonzales.
* At 1:45 PM Monday the stage was 41.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 31.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 43.4 feet by after midnight
tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 43.0 feet... major flooding closes highways 183, 97 and farm to
Market 108. Runoff down Tinsley creek in Gonzales added to the Guadalupe River
backwater can flood lowest homes near the creek. Secondary roads and streets
near the river are flooded and dangerous to motorists..
