Coastal Flood Statement
Statement as of 7:49 PM CST on November 08, 2009
... Coastal Flood Watch is cancelled...
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has cancelled the coastal Flood Watch.
.Tide levels continue near one foot above predicted astronomical tides... resulting in tide levels between 2.5 and 3 feet at the times of high tide this evening into early Monday morning. This will result on only very minor coastal flooding during this period... mainly in low lying areas without any natural or man made dune protection.
Winds are expected to increase across the central and northern Gulf overnight. However... the wind direction will gradually shift to the northeast by morning before the next high tide cycle... thus bringing tides back down to normal levels.
