Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 6:58 PM CDT on May 30, 2015

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Orange County in southeastern Texas...
northwestern Jefferson County in southeastern Texas...
southern Hardin County in southeastern Texas...

* until 900 PM CDT

* at 657 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms with rainfall rates between 1 and 2 inches per hour.
This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Beaumont... Lumberton... Vidor... Sour Lake... Nome... Saratoga... Bevil
Oaks... China... Rose City... Pine Forest... Lakeview and Batson.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is expected over the area. This
additional rain will make minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
