Flash Flood Warning
Statement as of 1:52 PM CDT on June 02, 2015

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 430 PM CDT Tuesday
for northeastern Ellis County...

At 141 PM CDT... emergency management reported flash flooding
continues to occur due to a levee break near the confluence of bear
and Red Oak creeks in far northeast Ellis County. Part of rock
Road... Saw Mill Road... and James Road continue to be affected in
this general area.

Flooding of farmland continues to occur close to the area of the
levee breach... though flow out of the levee has lessened compared to
this previous morning. Only a few farm homes remain threatened by
the continued flow from the levee... though they are not expected to
be affected directly. In addition... motorists are urged to avoid
this area if at all possible... or until local authorities say it is
safe to travel this area once again. Barriers have been set up to
redirect traffic away from the flooded area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include... residents
near the far east side of Bristol and adjacent rural areas close to
the confluence of bear and Red Oak creeks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Do not go
around barriers! These are set up for your protection... as most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
