Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 7:29 PM CST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST
Thursday...

* timing... mixed precipitation continuing through early morning
Thursday.

* Precipitation type... freezing rain... sleet... and snow.

* Accumulation... up to a tenth of an inch of ice. Around 1 inch
of sleet and snow. Isolated totals up to 3 inches possible.

* Temperatures... lows in the mid to upper 20s tonight.

* Impacts... accumulating ice... sleet... and snow will create
hazardous travel conditions... beginning Wednesday evening and
continuing through Thursday morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Slow down and use caution while driving. Bridges and overpasses
will be the first places that icy spots will develop. Do not slam
on the brakes when approaching an icy bridge or overpass.
Instead... maintain a constant safe speed and coast across the
ice. If you start to slide or skid... calmly steer in the
direction of the skid to straighten the vehicle out and regain
control.

Wind Advisory
Statement as of 2:45 PM CST on March 04, 2015

... Wind Advisory now in effect until 6 am CST Thursday...

* timing... strong north winds are expected this afternoon through
early Thursday morning.

* Winds... sustained north winds of 25 to 35 mph with wind gusts
between 35 and 40 mph.

* Impacts... strong north winds may result in driving difficulties
on east-west oriented roadways... especially for lightweight and
high-profile vehicles. Strong north winds combined with a mix of
wintry precipitation will reduce visibilities. In addition...
strong north winds combined with cold temperatures will result
in wind chill values in the single digits and teens.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 20 to
30 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Boaters should
use extra caution when venturing onto area lakes. Residents may
wish to take action to secure trash cans... lawn furniture... and
other lightweight outdoor objects that may be blown around in the
strong winds.
