A freeze warning remains in effect until 9 am CST this morning.
Temperatures are near or below freezing for many locations in North Texas early this morning. This is the first freeze of the season for areas generally along and east of the I-35 corridor.

A freeze warning means that the seasons first episode of sub- freezing temperatures are likely to occur. These conditions will kill sensitive plants and residents are advised to protect tender vegetation. Automatic sprinkler systems should also be turned off to avoid creating ice patches on nearby roads... driveways... and sidewalks.

... Snow expected Friday for much of North Texas...
An upper level disturbance will move across Texas on Friday and trigger areas of snow across the region. The track of the disturbance means the best potential for accumulating snowfall will be across the southern portions of North Texas. However most locations across North Texas will see at least light snow or snow flurries Friday.
Light snow will develop across West Texas this evening and move east into the western parts of North Texas early Friday morning. The snow will continue to develop and expand southeast during the day. Locations south of a line from Cisco... to Waco... to Palestine will average around one inch of snow. Areas north of this line will generally experience a light dusting of snow. Snow should end from west to east during the afternoon and early evening hours.
Travel may become hazardous across the southern portions of North Texas and central Texas Friday. Residents are encouraged to keep updated with the latest forecasts and any possible winter weather advisories from your National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
