* Timing: the near 0 visibilities... strong north winds... and blowing snow should last through 6 PM CST today.
* Other impacts: snow on the roadways are causing very slick and dangerous conditions.

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions. Local sheriffs offices have reported multiple vehicle accidents especially along Interstate 40. Do not travel. If you must... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded... stay with your vehicle.

... Preliminary snowfall totals for the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles...
A strong winter storm system... combined with cold Arctic air... brought widespread snowfall to much of the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles. Below are the preliminary totals for selected locations across the area. These totals are valid from 8 am CST December 23 through noon CST December 24.
The vast majority of the snow fell across the Texas Panhandle... generally along and south of the Canadian river... beginning the afternoon of December 23 and continuing until noon on December 24. However... some snow fell across the northern Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle during the morning of December 23.
These totals are preliminary and subject to change as more information becomes available.
