Statement as of 9:09 AM CDT on May 30, 2015

The Flood Warning continues for the Nueces River near Bluntzer.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:00 am Saturday the stage was 25.1 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast: the river will continue to fall to a stage of 24.6 feet
by tomorrow morning and then resume a slow rise to 24.9 feet by
Thursday morning.

* At 24.0 feet, major lowland flooding occurs from near blutzer to
Calallen. Widespread residential flooding occurs for days or weeks.
This includes homes in the following subdivisions, Sandy hallow, los
dos Palomas, los Escondido, and along Oak Lane in Rio encinos. Many
secondary roads, primary roads, and low bridges are flooded. The flow
is out of The Channel and into prevailing left flood plain.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of south Texas... including the following areas...
Aransas... Bee... Calhoun... Duval... Goliad... Jim Wells...
Kleberg... La Salle... Live Oak... McMullen... Nueces... Refugio...
San Patricio... Victoria and Webb.

* Through Sunday morning

* there is a potential for heavy rainfall this afternoon and
tonight over south Texas associated with a slow southward
moving frontal boundary. Rainfall rates may exceed flash flood
thresholds and result in widespread flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... A strong thunderstorm will affect west central Jim Wells and
northeastern Duval counties...

At 353 PM CDT... a strong thunderstorm was near San Diego... moving
west at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
San Diego.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm... and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

This storm may intensify... so be certain to monitor local radio and
TV stations... as well as local cable TV outlets... for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
