Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon Saturday... areas of light snow will continue to fall across portions of extreme northeast Texas...southeast Oklahoma...and adjacent sections of southwest Arkansas...through much of the overnight hours. As temperatures remain below freezing...light snowfall accumulations of up to an inch are possible during the next few hours. Also...visibility could be reduced in some of the heavier pockets of snow...thus motorists should slow down and use extreme caution as snow will accumulate on bridges and overpasses. Some light freezing drizzle is also possible...which could make bridges and overpasses even more slick...and will likely remain slick even after precipitation comes to an end...as temperatures will remain below freezing through the morning hours on Saturday.

Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 9:53 PM CST on February 27, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon CST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for light freezing rain and sleet... which is in
effect until noon CST Saturday.

* Event... areas of light freezing rain and sleet have developed
this evening over portions of northcentral Texas. This precipitation
will continue to shift northeast across the western sections of
East Texas overnight... which will result in light ice accumulations
of up to several hundredths of an inch.

* Timing... the light freezing rain and sleet will move into the
advisory area after midnight... and continue through mid morning
Saturday before changing over to rain as surface temperatures
climb above freezing.

* Impact... light ice accumulations are expected on elevated
objects such as bridges and overpasses... as well as some trees
and power lines. This light accumulation of ice will result in
hazardous driving conditions... especially on bridges and overpasses.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for freezing rain and sleet means that
periods of ice will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roadways and possible travel delays. Use caution while
driving.
