Flood Warning
Statement as of 10:40 PM CDT on May 26, 2015

The Flood Warning continues for
the Navasota river near Normangee
* from Wednesday morning until further notice... or until the warning
is canceled.
* At 0900 PM Tuesday the stage was 14.7 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river is exepected to continue a steady rise to
within minor flood stage and crest around 18 feet early on
Friday.
* At 18.0 feet... moderate lowland flooding begins as three channels
merge into one below State Highway 21. There is widespread
inundation of the flood plain in the vicinity of the gage with
the river more than 1.5 miles wide. Long trussel Road in
northeast Brazos County below State Highway 21 becomes inundated.

... Significant weather advisory for northern Burleson... western
Madison... Brazos and northwestern Grimes counties until 245 am CDT...

At 158 am CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 13 miles northeast of
Franklin to near Hearne to near Cameron... and moving southeast at 30
mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
northern College Station... Bryan... Caldwell... Kurten... Wixon
Valley... Kyle field... Iola... Chriesman and North Zulch.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms... and may
lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may intensify... so be certain to monitor local radio
and TV stations... as well as local cable TV outlets... for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather... contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in League City .
