The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am this morning to 6 PM
CST this evening.

* Event... winds from the northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 30 mph

* timing... 9 am to 6 PM CST today.

* Impact... difficult travel conditions on highways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Drivers of vans... campers... trailers... and other high-profile
vehicles should be alert to the danger of these winds...
especially when driving along east to west oriented roads. Be sure
to secure any tents... bounce houses or outside canopies.





Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:28 AM CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 7 am this morning to
7 PM CST this evening for strong gusty winds and very low
humidity across southeast Texas...

* affected counties... Houston... Trinity... Madison... Walker...
San Jacinto... Polk... Burleson... Brazos... Washington...
Grimes... Montgomery... Liberty... Colorado... Austin... Waller...
Harris... Chambers... Wharton... Fort Bend... Jackson...
Matagorda... Brazoria... Galveston.

* Wind... north to northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with frequent
gusts of 30 to 35 mph.

* Humidity... 14 to 21 percent.

* Impacts... dangerous wildfire burning conditions with the
potential for fire starts with very rapid expansion of the
fire.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.
