Lake Wind Advisory
Statement as of 4:31 AM CDT on April 25, 2015

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am this morning to 7 PM
CDT this evening... for the four state region.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am this morning to 7 PM CDT
this evening.

* Event... a tight pressure gradient associated with a surface low
pressure system moving across the plains toward the Tennessee
and Ohio valleys will produce strong and gusty winds of 15-20
mph with higher gusts to 25-30 mph.

* Timing... from 9 am to 7 PM CDT today.

* Impact... a rough chop may cause hazardous boating conditions on
area lakes and open waters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing
after taking on water in the rough conditions.

... Storm damage survey to be conducted today in northeast
Texas today...

National Weather Service meteorologists will be conducting a storm
damage survey across Upshur and Cass counties as a result of the
extensive wind damage reported the evening of Friday, April 24th.
Official damage assessments will come after the survey has been
completed.
