A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to noon CST Friday.
* Impacts: with ground temperatures falling to well below
freezing... ice will develop easily on area roadways. Dangerous
driving conditions due to icy roads are likely. Ice
accumulations on trees and power lines may cause damage...
perhaps resulting in power outages as well.
* Timing: freezing rain and sleet will spread south into
Runnels... Coleman... and Brown counties by early this evening. A
more significant freezing rain and sleet event is likely tonight
and Friday morning as well.
* Accumulations: a mixture of freezing rain and sleet will
result in ice accumulations of one quarter to one half inch.
If the precipitation falls mainly as sleet... accumulations
will be higher.
* Dangerous wind chill readings will also be possible... dropping
into the teens by Friday morning.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
