Statement as of 3:41 AM CST on March 01, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until noon CST today...

* location... this statement is for areas along and northwest of
a line from Goldthwaite to Weatherford to Gainesville.

* Timing... through noon today.

* Precipitation type... freezing drizzle.

* Accumulation... additional very light icing mainly on bridges and
other elevated surfaces.

* Main impact... a thin layer of ice on top of prior ice and/or
snowfall will continue to make for hazardous travel.
Temperatures will be cold enough for additional light
accumulations on all roads... bridges... and overpasses this
morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of winter
precipitation will cause travel difficulties so travel is
discouraged. Be prepared for slippery roads and plan on some
travel delays.

... Record low maximum temperature set at Dallas Fort Worth...
... Record daily maximum snowfall set at Dallas Fort Worth...

The high temperature yesterday at dfw Airport was 32 degrees. This
breaks the old record low maximum for February 28th of 33 degrees
set in 1962.

A trace of sleet fell yesterday at dfw Airport. This is classified
as snowfall for the official records... thus a record snowfall of a
trace occurred at Dallas Fort Worth yesterday. This ties the old
record for February 28th of a trace that occurred in 1913... 1922...
1942... 1996 and 2001.
