Statement as of 7:15 PM CST on December 20, 2013
... Patchy ice on trees... cars and elevated surfaces possible
overnight mainly north of Interstate 20 in the Big Country...
A strong cold front has moved southward across west central Texas
today. Temperatures have fallen into the lower to mid 30s along
and north of the interste 20 corridor this evening. An upper level storm
system will move across the area overnight... bringing rain to much
of west central Texas. With temperatures hovering right around
freezing... we could see some ice accumulation on cars... trees and
metal objects in the Big Country by morning. Road surfaces and the
ground remain warm... so we are not expecting any accumulation on
roads at this time. We will continue to monitor the temperatures
overnight. If you are travelling anywhere across the Big Country
early tomorrow morning... be sure to check the weather and Road
conditions before you leave.
