A Winter Weather Advisory for snow remains in effect from 9 am this
morning to 9 PM CST this evening.
* Event... snow is expected across the southwest and south central
Texas Panhandle today and this evening. Snowfall accumulations of 1
to 3 inches... with locally higher amounts of up to 4 inches across
the far south central Texas Panhandle... are expected.
* Timing... snow will develop and overspread the southwest and south
central portions of the Texas Panhandle by late this morning. Snow
will continue through the afternoon hours before tapering off
during the evening.
* Impacts... roads and bridges may become slick from the snow...
leading to hazardous travel conditions. In addition... southerly
winds of 15 to 25 mph may occasionally reduce visibilities due to
blowing snow.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
