The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northeastern Blount County in east Tennessee...
west central Sevier County in east Tennessee...

* until 915 PM EDT

* at 610 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated a cluster of thunderstorms
have produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 to 5
inches of rain have fallen! Flash flooding is expected to begin
shortly... or may already be occurring!

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Walland... Townsend... and wears valley

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now! Act quickly to protect your life!

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles!

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
northeastern Blount and west central Sevier counties...

At 557 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Two to four inches of rain have already fallen... an additional one
to two inches can be expected through the rest of the evening.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Seymour... Walland and Wildwood.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect southeastern Sevier and
southern Cocke counties...

At 614 PM EDT... a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line
extending from 10 miles south of Dandridge to near Smoky Mountains...
Newfound Gap... and moving southeast at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and dime size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Newport... Smoky Mountains... Newfound Gap... Smoky Mountains... Balsam
Mountain... Pittman Center... Hartford... Max patch... fairgarden... bird
crossing... Round Mountain... del Rio... Cosby... Waterville and Great
Smoky Mountains N.P..
