The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of east Tennessee and southwest Virginia... including the following areas... in east Tennessee... Johnson... northwest Carter... southeast Carter... southeast Greene and Unicoi. In southwest Virginia... Washington. * Until 1 PM EST this afternoon * additional rainfall amounts near one and one half inches are possible this morning across the watch area. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should keep informed... and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. If you come to a closed or flooded Road... turn around! Don't drown!

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 4 PM EST Thursday.
Northeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts near 45 mph.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 26 to 39 mph and/or gusts of
40 to 57 mph are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles...
so use caution when driving.

... Record daily maximum rainfall set at the Tri-Cities regional Airport... A record rainfall of 1.37 inches was set in the Tri-Cities yesterday. This breaks the old record of 0.96 set in 1979.
