Special Statement
Statement as of 1:47 PM CDT on April 25, 2015

... Severe weather still possible for middle Tennessee...

The potential still exists for severe thunderstorms to develop late
this afternoon and evening... especially north of I-40. Primary
threats look to be large hail... damaging winds... and maybe an
isolated tornado or two. The best chance for any severe weather will
be for areas nearest the Kentucky state line between 5 and 10 PM.

The atmosphere continues to destabilize as clouds thin out and the
sun warms US into the upper 70s. However... the air is drying out as
we warm up and this will limit storm coverage greatly. That
said... one or two isolated supercell thunderstorms capable of
producing severe weather are not out of the question during the late
afternoon. The main threat will likely come in the form of a line
this evening moving in from the northwest and across far northern
middle Tennessee. Large hail and damaging winds would be the primary
concern with this line of thunderstorms.

Please remain weather aware if you are going to be out and about
across middle Tennessee this afternoon and evening.
