Carter County in east Tennessee... this includes the city of Elizabethton... Greene County in east Tennessee... this includes the city of Greeneville... Johnson County in east Tennessee... this includes the city of Mountain City... Sullivan County in east Tennessee... this includes the cities of... Kingsport... Bristol TN... Unicoi County in east Tennessee... this includes the city of Erwin... Washington County in east Tennessee... this includes the city of Johnson City... * until 345 am EST Wednesday * at 938 PM EST... areas of moderate rain continue to move across northeast Tennessee. Radar is estimating between 1 to 2 inches has already fallen across much of the advisory area. Remnants of Ida will continue to pull north across the region into the night with additional rainfall between 1 and 2 inches possible. The persistent rain and saturated soil may produce ponding of low lying areas and small stream flooding. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not underestimate the power of flood waters. Only a few inches of rapidly flowing water can quickly carry away your vehicle.
