Nowcast as of 3:01 PM CST on December 8, 2009
Now
Through 5 PM...widespread rainfall will continue across the mid state. The first round has moved east of the area...so the eastern half of the mid state will see a break in precipitation. However...the next wave is pushing in from the west...so this break will be short lived. Hourly rainfall amounts will be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch on average...with locally higher amounts up to half an inch in the western counties. Minor flooding will be possible with this rain event...especially in low lying areas and locations with poor drainage systems. Additionally...winds will continue to pick up during the afternoon...reaching speeds of 20 to 30 mph...with gusts up to 40 mph.
