Wind Chill Advisory, Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:57 AM CST on March 05, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST today...
... Wind Chill Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am
CST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Wind Chill
Advisory... which is in effect from midnight tonight to 6 am CST
Friday.

* Timing... ongoing snowfall early this morning will taper off by
late morning. Very cold temperatures... accompanied by light
winds late tonight will prdouce very low wind chills.

* Accumulations... 2 to 5 inches of snow and sleet are expected
with the highest amounts closer to the Kentucky state line and
Interstate 65... and lowest around Interstate 40. Only trace
amounts of additional freezing rain are expected.

* Wind chill values... around minus five late tonight.

* Main impact... precipitation this morning will be mainly a mix of
snow and sleet... with only minor amounts of additional freezing
rain. This mixed precipitation will create major travel impacts
through Friday... and possibly into Friday night as well.

* Other impacts... temperatures are likely to stay below freezing
over most of the area through Friday night... although sunshine
should help to melt some of the snow and ice during the day on
Friday. Many roadways will remain slick and hazardous for an
extended period of time.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
