At 5 PM CDT... a band of thunderstorms was moving along Interstate 40 from Benton County to Nashville and east into the Crossville area. Heavy rain... and frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes can be expected for next 30 minutes along Interstate 40 in middle Tennessee. The strongest activity was from Lebanon to Gordonsville. Motorists can expect torrential rains... with visibilties reduced to near zero.

Thunderstorms are moving through middle Tennessee at 440 PM CDT... with the strongest activity in the Nashville area... eastward into Wilson County along Interstate 40. Heavy downpours of rain will reduce visibilities to near zero along Interstate 40 at times... so motorists are urged to drive with caution and watch out for ponding of water on roadways. In addition to the heavy downpours... frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes are occurring with these storms.
