The Wind Advisory is now in effect until noon CST today.

* Expect winds from 20 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

* Winds of this strength can be hazardous to high profile vehicles
and may down a few tree branches.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 25 to 39 mph are
expected... or gusts will range between 40 and 57 mph. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.

... Wintry conditions expected across the mid south this Christmas
day...

Temperatures will continue to quickly fall across the mid south
early this morning with areas along and west of the Mississippi
River likely falling to near or below freezing before sunrise.
Further east... temperatures will drop into the 30s by mid morning.
Temperatures should then remain steady in the 30s with strong wind
gusts resulting in wind chills in the upper teens throughout the
day.

Light rain showers should change to light snow showers or flurries
before precipitation comes to an end later this morning. Snow
accumulations up to one inch will be possible across portions of
northeast Arkansas to the north of a Walnut Ridge to Piggott line
where a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect. Elsewhere
west of a line from Batesville Mississippi to Brownsville
Tennessee to Union City Tennessee... light snow showers could
produce a light dusting in some locations.

The light snow showers combined with continued wet roadways and
temperatures dropping to near or below freezing could result in
icy spots developing on area roadways... especially elevated Road
surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. The most likely locations
to experience icy spots this morning will include east and
northeast Arkansas... the Missouri bootheel... far west
Tennessee... and northwest Mississippi. This does include the
Jonesboro Arkansas and Memphis Tennessee metropolitan areas.

Please exercise extra caution while driving early this morning.
Reduce Highway speeds and maintain extra space between your
vehicle and vehicles ahead of you. Road hazards should diminish
later this morning as temperatures rise back above freezing.
