... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to noon CST Thursday...

* timing... from 6 PM CST Wednesday through noon CST Thursday.

* Accumulations... 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet are expected...
with the highest amounts closer to the Kentucky state line and
Interstate 65... and lowest around Interstate 40. Freezing rain
accumulations are expected to be around a tenth of an inch.

* Main impact... precipitation will mainly be rain in the morning
and early afternoon... then mix with freezing rain and sleet
during the mid to late afternoon. Snow should develop during
the late afternoon for areas closer to Interstate 65 and in
the evening for the Cumberland Plateau. This mixed
precipitation will create major travel impacts from Wednesday
afternoon through Friday afternoon.

* Other impacts... temperatures are likely to stay below freezing
from Wednesday night through mid day Friday. This will likely
keep many roadways slick and hazardous for an extended period
of time.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet... and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
