With temperatures falling below freezing after sunset this evening... there will be the possibility of black ice forming tonight as moisture from the earlier snowfall refreezes. Residents of east Tennessee... southwest Virginia and extreme southwest North Carolina are urged to exercise caution when venturing out on the roadways tonight. 1141 am EST Sat Dec 5 2009 /1041 am CST Sat Dec 5 2009/ ... Black ice possible tonight... Snow will come to an end this afternoon... with the earlier snow accumulations likely melting in many areas this afternoon. With temperatures falling below freezing after sunset this evening... there will be the possibility of black ice developing tonight as this moisture refreezes. Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio... or your favorite local media outlet... for further updates on this winter weather situation. |
