Through 3 PM...showers and a few thunderstorms will continue to affect much of the mid south. The earlier showers and storms are moving rapidly east out of west Tennessee and northeast Mississippi but more rain is developing over all the region and will likely increase in coverage through the afternoon. Expect occasional lightning and brief heavy rain with the stronger storms that develop. Hourly rainfall amounts will generally average around one tenth inch with isolated higher amounts.
