... Ice Storm Warning in effect from 6 am to 6 PM CST Friday...
The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued an Ice Storm
Warning... which is in effect from 6 am to 6 PM CST Friday. The
Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
* Ice accumulations... one quarter to three quarters of an inch.
* Snow/sleet accumulations... less than one inch.
* Timing... 6 am CST Friday morning through 6 PM CST Friday
* Impacts... very hazardous travel is expected. Numerous downed
tree branches... trees... and power lines... that may lead to the
potential for widespread and prolonged power outages. Falling
trees and tree branches may also become a danger to anyone
An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations
will make travel dangerous or impossible. Travel is strongly
discouraged. Commerce will likely be severely impacted. If you
must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. Ice accumulations and winds will
likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree branches that
add to the danger.

... Record high minimum temperature tied at Jackson Tennessee...
A record high minimum temperature of 61 degrees was tied at Jackson
Tennessee yesterday. This ties the old record of 61 degrees which
was set back in 1982.
