Statement as of 4:58 AM CST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 9 PM this
evening to noon CST Thursday...

* timing... from 9 PM CST Wednesday through noon CST Thursday.

* Accumulations... 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet are expected...
with the highest amounts closer to Interstate 40 and lowest
amounts near the Alabama border. Freezing rain accumulations are
expected to be around a tenth of an inch... although it is
possible that greater accumulations will occur over some extreme
southern areas.

* Main impact... precipitation will mainly be rain during the day
Wednesday... then mix with freezing rain and sleet during the
late afternoon and early evening. Snow should mix in with the
precipitation in most areas overnight. This mixed precipitation
will create major travel impacts from Wednesday afternoon
through Friday afternoon.

* Other impacts... temperatures are likely to stay below freezing
from Wednesday night through mid day Friday. This will likely
keep many roadways slick and hazardous for an extended period
of time.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

The regularly scheduled weekly NOAA Weather Radio test for today has
been postponed due to inclement weather.

The weekly test will be conducted at the normal time on the next
good weather day.
