Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 4:16 PM EST on February 01, 2015

...Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 am to 6 PM EST Monday...

The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow...which is in effect from 5 am to 6 PM EST Monday.

* Event...snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches with isolated higher amounts.

* Timing...best chance for snowfall accumulations will be late tonight into early Monday afternoon.

* Impacts...travel may become hazardous...mainly above 3000 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Travel will likely become hazardous once the wintry precipitation begins. Motorists need to be especially careful on bridges and overpasses where slippery spots often develop first.

Wind Advisory
Statement as of 3:39 PM EST on February 01, 2015

...Wind Advisory remains in effect until 5 am EST Monday...

* event...strong and gusty southwesterly winds with sustained speeds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* Timing...these strong winds will affect the higher elevations of the eastern mountains this evening through Monday morning.

* Impacts...the highest gusts could down a few trees and/or powerlines in the eastern mountains.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 26 to 39 mph and/or gusts of 40 to 57 mph are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles... so use caution when driving.
