... Icy spots expected to develop across the mid state overnight...
Though the significant precipitation has ended and has now moved
east of middle TN... there is still a chance that some freezing
drizzle may redevelop overnight. Otherwise... as temperatures drop
down into the 20s by sunrise across the entire mid state... any
residual moisture on roadway surfaces will freeze. Motorists are
urged to slow down and drive with caution as icy spots are likely
to develop. Be especially aware of black ice. Black ice refers to
ice that forms on roadway surfaces. The ice is clear and is not
easily seen. Hence the term... black ice.

A record rainfall of 1.47 inch(es) was set at Nashville today. This
breaks the old record of 1.3 set in 1950.
Additional precipitation is possible this evening and the final
daily record rainfall will be issued early Saturday morning.
