Houston Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 9:12 AM CDT on April 25, 2015

... Severe weather still possible for middle Tennessee...

The potential exists for severe thunderstorms to develop late
this afternoon and evening... especially along and north of I-40.
Primary threats look to be large hail... damaging winds... and
isolated tornadoes. The time frame for this severe potential looks
to be from around 3 PM until 9 PM.

By late morning and into the afternoon... the atmosphere will
become very unstable as clouds thin out and the sun warms US into
the upper 70s. While storms may become severe... drying this
afternoon may help limit storm coverage. That said... one or two
isolated supercell thunderstorms capable of large hail and
tornadoes are not out of the question during the late afternoon.
The main threat will likely come in the form of a line this
evening moving in from the north. Large hail and damaging winds
would be the primary concern with this line of thunderstorms.

Please remain weather aware if you are going to be out and about
across middle Tennessee today.
