* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... northwestern Hancock County in eastern Tennessee... northeastern Claiborne County in eastern Tennessee... southwestern Lee County in southwest Virginia...

* until 745 PM EDT

* at 716 PM EDT...Doppler radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. This storm was located 8 miles east of Harrogate-Shawanee...or 15 miles west of Sneedville...and moving east at 25 mph.

* Locations impacted include... Sneedville...Harrogate-Shawanee...Cumberland Gap...Evanston...Rose Hill...Arthur and Ewing.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds...destructive hail... deadly lightning and very heavy rain. For your protection...move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business. Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the Road.

At 659 PM EDT...Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles west of New Tazewell...or 15 miles north of Maynardville... moving east at 30 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include... New Tazewell...Tazewell...Harrogate-Shawanee...Lone Mountain... Springdale...Howard Quarter...Sandlick...Arthur and Sharps Chapel.
