A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to 12 PM MDT Sunday.
Occasional light snow... possibly mixed with rain at times on the
plains... can be expected today. Little or no accumulation is
expected during the daytime hours. The next disturbance will then
approach the area late this afternoon and early evening. Snow will
increase in intensity and be heavy at times tonight. Snow will
taper off Sunday morning. Snowfall totals from tonight into
Sunday morning will generally be in the 5 to 12 inch range. The
highest amounts will be across the Black Hills... Bear Lodge
Mountains... and the higher elevations of the far northwestern
South Dakota plains... mainly near the Montana and Wyoming
borders. Amounts above one foot are possible across the higher
elevations of the Black Hills and Bear Lodge Mountains.
A Winter Storm Warning means severe winter conditions are
expected or occurring.
