Statement as of 4:41 AM CDT on March 29, 2015

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT this evening...

* timing... strongest winds developing mid morning through early
afternoon. Highest wind gusts begin mid to late Sunday morning.

* Weather conditions... sustained northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with
gusts up to 50 mph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.

Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 5:04 AM CDT on March 29, 2015

... Red flag warning in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM
CDT this evening for strong wind and low relative humidity for
fire weather zones 249... 255... 256... 258 and 300...

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT
this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected area... fire weather zone 249. Fire weather zone 255.
Fire weather zone 256. Fire weather zone 258. Fire weather zone

* Wind... northwest winds 25 to 35 mph... with gusty early
afternoon of 45 to 50 mph.

* Humidity... minimum values will vary from around 20 percent in
Lower Brule areas... to 25 to 30 percent east of the James Valley
toward northwest Iowa.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
