Statement as of 9:13 PM EST on November 12, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon EST Friday for Lake Moultrie... A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon EST Friday. Strong low pressure over the Outer Banks of North Carolina and high pressure building in from the west will maintain gusty winds and rough boating conditions on Lake Moultrie through Friday morning. North to northwest winds will continue at 20 to 25 knots tonight and Friday morning before dropping below 20 knots Friday afternoon. In addition... waves could be as high as 2 to 3 feet on the Open Lake waters. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Mariners should use extra caution on Lake Moultrie... especially on the Open Lake waters. Strong winds may lead to large waves which can capsize boats.
