Statement as of 7:04 PM EST on November 12, 2009 The Flood Warning continues for the Broad River at Blair. * Until Saturday evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 6 PM Thursday the stage was 21.7 feet. * Flood stage is 19.0 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 22.0 feet by after midnight tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage by Friday November 13. * At 21.0 feet... large areas of farmland and river bottomland around and downstream from Blair become flooded. * Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 21.9 feet on Mar 30 2005. 704 PM EST Thu Nov 12 2009 The Flood Warning continues for the Enoree river at Whitmire. * Until Friday evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 6 PM Thursday the stage was 25.6 feet. * Flood stage is 25.0 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue to fall... going below flood stage by Thursday November 12. * At 25.0 feet... river bottomland near and downstream from Whitmire become flooded. * Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 25.6 feet on Sep 10 2004. 704 PM EST Thu Nov 12 2009 The Flood Warning extended for the Saluda River at Chappells. * Until late Saturday night... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 6 PM Thursday the stage was 12.1 feet. * Flood stage is 14.0 feet. * Minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage this evening and crest around 16.9 feet tomorrow morning. The river will fall below flood stage by Saturday November 14. * At 16.0 feet... extensive farmland and river bottomland around and downstream from Chappells become flooded. * Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 16.9 feet on Jan 11 1968.

Statement as of 3:19 PM EST on November 12, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this evening... A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM EST this evening. Winds on area lakes this evening will be north 15 to 25 knots... then diminish to 10 to 20 knots late. Strong low pressure near the North Carolina coast is responsible for the winds. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats and personal watercraft will be especially prone to capsizing.
