Statement as of 7:33 AM EST on December 16, 2009 ... The Flood Warning remains in effect until 330 PM EST Saturday for Calhoun... Sumter and Richland counties... At 718 am EST..minor lowland flooding is continuing along the Santee river near trezesvants Landing. The river level has been falling over the past couple of days. The 600 am reading Wednesday morning at the gage is 81.07 feet which is down 0.31 feet from the same time yesterday. Flood stage is 80 feet. The river will continue to fall over the next several days. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flood Warning means flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges... dips... or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on foot. To escape rising water move up to higher ground. Report flooding to your County sheriff... or call the National Weather Service toll free at 1 800 7 7 5 7 1 9 9. Lat...
